Intralogistics is the internal flow of materials
between the production line, the warehouse and the dispatch point. Containers have to run without failures through a high number of operating cycles; how many depends on the warehouse profile.
AKL (automated small-parts warehouse) and shuttle systems demand high dimensional accuracy
too large a deviation means the system jams. Standard transport boxes are not up to the job.
The PPWR does not name intralogistics as such
but Article 29(2) requires that, from 1 January 2030, transport packaging circulating between different sites of the same operator and between linked and partner enterprises is reusable within a re-use system – and pressure from customers is bringing that change forward.
Intralogistics containers are designed for high stacking

The PPWR and intralogistics – only flow within a single site stays outside the scope
Intralogistics is the internal flow of materials, between the warehouse and the production line of the same company. The PPWR sets no separate percentage targets for intralogistics itself, but three mechanisms push towards reusable transport packaging (RTP) all the same: the duty to use it within a re-use system for circulation inside the company (Article 29(2)), pressure from OEMs and the retail chains, and the PFAS restriction on packaging intended to come into contact with food (Article 5(5)).

What is intralogistics?
Intralogistics is the internal flow of materials within a single site or between the sites of the same company. It covers the equipment (racking, AKL systems, AGVs, AMRs, conveyors), the software (WMS, WCS) and the transport containers.
How does an intralogistics container differ from a transport box?
An intralogistics container holds tighter dimensional tolerances and takes more stacking load than a standard transport box, it has space for RFID tags and pick-by-light, and it is designed for repeated rotation in a closed loop.
Do silverline containers fit AKL warehouses and shuttle systems?
Yes – we design silverline containers in EURO-NORM dimensions and match them to the requirements of the main automated warehouse systems (AKL, shuttle, miniload). We agree the compatibility details individually, for the system in your warehouse.
Is intralogistics covered by the PPWR?
The percentage targets in Article 29(1) – at least 40% of packaging operating within a re-use system from 1 January 2030, and an endeavour to reach 70% from 1 January 2040 – apply to economic operators that use transport packaging. Transport between the sites of the same company and between linked and partner enterprises is governed directly by Article 29(2): the PPWR provides that, from 1 January 2030, such packaging will be reusable within a re-use system. Only the flow within a single site stays outside the scope. On top of that comes pressure from OEMs and the retail chains.
What are ESD containers and when are they needed?
ESD containers made of PP-ESD dissipate electrostatic charges continuously, which protects sensitive electronic components against discharges (PP-ESD provides permanent dissipation of electrostatic charges in line with the requirements for ESD applications).
Which WMS systems do you integrate with?
We do not integrate directly, since we are not a software supplier, but we match containers to the customer’s WMS: permanent marking for the WMS code, RFID tags and cut-outs for pick-by-light.
Do you design containers to a customer’s bespoke dimensions?
Yes – we design containers in bespoke dimensions matched to the customer’s warehouse system, the contecline series for automated warehouses among them. Production is to individual order; we agree the minimum quantity and the lead time individually.
