The bekuplast development path
From a small business to a leading manufacturer of reusable transport packaging - the bekuplast success story.
1985
On 21 August 1985, Wilhelm Roelofs founded bekuplast GmbH together with Horst Niere and Wilfried Kohl. The company produced plastic containers for transporting flower bulbs on an injection moulding machine in Emlichheim, Lower Saxony.
1988
The product programme is constantly being expanded. Plastic containers for fruit and vegetable growing, the food industry, the technical industry and various commercial goods are being added. In addition, the company is starting to develop its own products.
1993
bekuplast develops and produces the first folding fruit and vegetable containers for an international pool company. The production of folding containers becomes one of the company's core competences. To this day, bekuplast is a leader in this field and a development partner of major European pool companies.
1994
The company is growing steadily and is relocating from Emlichheim to Ringe, a few kilometres away. A new production facility is being built there on an area of approximately 27,000 m2, which is the current headquarters of the bekuplast group of companies.
2000
Bekuplast builds a pallet factory and begins production of plastic pallets. In the following years, the Ringe plant is continuously expanded: the administration building is extended and investments are made in new production halls and warehouses, silos for storing raw materials, modern machinery and automation technology.
2002
International sales are expanded and the Dutch trading company Schiphorst B.V. is acquired in Deventer. In the same year, bekuplast launches the silverline series of containers in the European standard. The sturdy containers are favoured in industry and in automated small parts storage.
2005
bekuplast has been certified as a VDA-KLT manufacturer and is including the VDA-KLT series of containers in its range.
2012
A new state-of-the-art administration building is being built at the Ringe location.
2013
bekuplast is launching the new basicline Euro standard series. The universal container series proved to be a sales success and
was continuously developed in the following years.2014
The company's headquarters in Ringe is being expanded once again. At the heart of the extensive investment measures is a completely new production hall equipped with modern, energy-efficient injection moulding machines and a high degree of automation, as well as a state-of-the-art machining centre for further processing and refinement of products.
2015
A new light series with the European standard 'lightline' is being introduced.
2017
bekuplast expands its activities in Eastern Europe and acquires Polish plastics manufacturer ERG System. The company becomes part of the bekuplast Group.
